Hi lovelies! It’s been a while, a really long while without you guys 😔.
I apologize for leaving you guys high and dry. I’ve been trying to put some things in place. But I’m back now and better than ever 😁

Today, I would like to talk about solitude.
Solitude could mean different things. It could mean stillness, a state of being calm and so many others definitions. However, in today’s context I would define solitude as “the act of withdrawing from the noise around us to pay clear attention to the voice within us”.
Some of us might have heard this statement “ It’s a noisy world out there”. Well, yes it really is a noisy world. From car horns, to trains, aero planes, to even humans. It could also be the toils of life that has placed this heavy weight upon our hearts, the same weight that tends to block out our inner voice, that voice of reasoning and that same voice that brings peace into our hearts.
This is when solitude comes in handy. Withdrawal might not be an easy task for some of us as we find it hard to detach ourselves from the bubbles that comes with our daily lives, but it is infact important that we withdraw once in a while.
Benefits of Solitude
The benefits of solitude are innumerable, they include;
- Solitude helps us unwind and relax
- We can refresh our bodies but not just that, renew our minds while in solitude.
- Negative thought process is altered when our minds are in a relaxed state.
- There’s inner peace that comes with solitude, I mean the right kind of solitude.
- Solitude helps us in decision making.
These are just few of the benefits of solitude.
Solitude can be practiced anywhere technically but not just anywhere. You wouldn’t go to the market square to have some alone time, would you?? 😁 That’s me just being funny😉.
Your inner voice most times can be heard in a calm and quiet place. It could be in your own backyard on a cool evening, an open green field, it could be by the river bank, it could be in a park, it could be in a vacation home or even your own room. You can choose the location and time that works best for you.

Can I also say that solitude and meditation goes hand in hand. For you to be able to tap into that inner peace and voice there has to be calm in and around you, that’s basically what meditation means.
Have you ever been by yourself for some days only to realize that it wasn’t all that bad. You were able to relax and even achieve more than when you’re within yours peers, family or colleagues? Yeah!!
That’s what solitude helps us achieve.
Lest I forget, solitude also helps strengthen our relationship with our Heavenly Father, because we find Him in that still small voice.

So next time when you feel like life’s overwhelming you, just maybe all you need is to reconnect with your inner voice and peace through solitude.
With ❤ SashaByke.
